TheNepalese private sector is upbeat about the ‘Make in India’ initiative launched by the Indian Government and wishes for its success. We believe that vibrant India is good for the SouthAsian region. This new p r o g r a m a i m e d a t transforming India into a global manufacturing hub, we hope, will also transform the region into a vibrant regional economy. We, as a true neighbor and friend, are happy to see India becoming a major economic power in the World. Nepal and India have natal ties and share not only common heritage but also common resources. India is Nepal’s leading trade partner, with whom about two-third of our international trade is done and is also our leading source of incoming investment. The first phase of economic advancement of India, in the early  nineties, has positive impact in the economic growth of Nepal. Nepalese private sector is hoping to have a similar impact from the second phase being led by this ‘Make in India’ initiative.
